Two fire engines attended at around 10pm to assist officers at the scene. They left shortly before 1.45am.

Gas company SGN confirmed to KentOnline its staff arrived at 11.30pm at the request of police.

Engineers stopped the gas supply to the house and after the gas was isolated and made safe the team departed shortly after.

A spokesman for Kent Police said: “Officers attended along with partner agencies and the person was passed into the care of healthcare professionals.”

The South East Coast Ambulance Service was approached for comment.
