Firefighters called to Dartford Crossing after mobile unit catches fire

Traffic was stopped on the Dartford Crossing earlier after a mobile unit caught alight.

The fire started at around 11.30am on the QEII Bridge when a unit that was being towed caught fire.

Two engines from the fire service used breathing apparatus and a hose reel jet to extinguish the blaze.

No injuries were reported and the cause is unknown.

The blaze was put out just before midday.
