THE funeral of an 11-year-old schoolboy who was killed after being hit by a bus in a Kent town was held on Friday.

The hearse carrying Matthew Hobbs led five vehicles to Highfield Road Baptist Church, Highfield Road, Dartford.

The cortege ran through Market Street before stopping outside the church.

Matthew, of Brent Lane, Dartford, died after being struck in Princes Road in the town on just before 7.30am on January 9.

He was a pupil at Wilmington Grammar School for Boys.

The flag on the Dartford Civic Centre flew at half mast as a mark of respect.
