Father-to-be exposed himself to schoolgirls

A 31-year-old father-to-be who exposed himself to four teenage schoolgirls while in his car has been ordered to carry out community service.

Sam Peter Robins, of Weavers Orchard, Hook Green Road, Southfleet, near Dartord, admitted indecent exposure.

Robins appeared before Dartford magistrates for sentencing after admitting the offence at an earlier hearing.

The court heard that four girls saw Robins sitting in his parked Alfa Romeo in Pelham Road, Gravesend, at about 9am on June 13.

Simon Wickens, prosecuting, said the girls noted his registration number. They gave a description of the man and the clothes he was wearing were later seized and matched those identified by the girls.

Robins was later picked out by the victims through video images.

Robins said at first that he stopped to use his phone, but later admitted the charge.

Michael Jenkins, defending, said Robins had entered an early guilty plea and shown remorse.

He said Robins would carry out as many hours of unpaid work as he could so that he could put the whole matter behind him.

He added: “He is a married man whose wife is expecting twins and it has had some effect on their marriage.

“His wife is aware of what has happened and she is still supportive.”

James Colwell, chairman of the bench, said: “This was rather nasty and we hope you have thought about it and think about the impact you have had on these girls.”

Robins was ordered to carry out 200 hours of unpaid work and given a community order for 12 months.
