The water was starting to run down Summerhouse Drive and into Fernheath.

A spokeswoman for Thames Water said this afternoon: "Our work to repair the burst pipe is progressing well and the excess water is now draining away from the road.

"We’re really sorry to anyone who has been affected today and we’re working hard to get things back to normal as quickly as possible."
