Eagle Heights vandalised

Jamie Bullen

Vandals caused £800 worth of damage at a wildlife park on Friday after destroying the entrance sign.

Staff at Eagle Heights Wildlife Park in Eynsford discovered the damage on Saturday morning and reported it to police.

An entrance sign which cost £800 was ripped off a post and bent in half leaving the old sign in place.

Samantha Ames, who works at the centre, said it was an 'odd and pointless' act.

She said: "This isn't going to be dire for the business but it will have a major effect on our fundraising efforts.

"That will be £800 we will spend on a new sign instead of going to Africa to help other charities."

They said the chances of finding the criminals were remote and claimed police told them forensic evidence was likely to be washed away by rain.

The centre remained open for business today with no other damage to the centre.

Police are believed to be investigating.
