Man left with fractured eye socket after assault at the Dartford Tunnel

A driver was left with a fractured eye socket after an assault on a busy road.

The victim was driving through the A282 Dartford tunnel towards Essex on Monday, January 30 when he was involved in a “road rage” altercation with people in two vans.

The driver continued his journey and was followed by the vans who forced him to stop in the layby straight after the tunnel.

Three men from the two vans – a white van and a grey Peugeot – got out and assaulted the victim before getting back in and driving away.

The victim, who is in his 20s, suffered a fractured eye socket.
