Loungewear brand Hexed created by Tunbridge Wells designer to host pop-up shop at John Lewis in Bluewater

A sustainable loungewear brand founded by a woman from Kent is hosting its first pop-up shop at Bluewater.

Designer Sharon Finch, who grew up in Tunbridge Wells, created the company Hexed which will be hitting the ground floor of John Lewis from Monday, April 24 until Sunday, April 30.

She studied at the University for the Creative Arts in Rochester and specialised in menswear.

After graduating, she worked her way up into senior senior positions with retailers including River Island, House of Fraser and Tesco as well as for brands like Fila and Ellesse.

Sharon, who now lives in Chislehurst, launched her brand in November 2021, which has had its sustainability certified by ESGMark.

It has won SME News British Made Awards in the Best Sustainable Loungewear Brand 2022 and has recently been shortlisted for the industry’s Drapers Sustainable award in the Ones to Watch category.

The sustainable and eco-conscious brand will be showcasing its new loungewear collection at the Greenhithe shopping centre and includes clothing in natural, earthy tones for both genders.

The brand describes itself as having “contemporary and minimal styles” which are timeless rather than seasonal.

The clothing is made using low impact sustainable materials, and environmentally conscious methods and processes.

Hexed is bringing the collection to the department store for the first time with the aim to encourage individuals to be consciously styled “through providing loungewear essentials that are sustainable, comfortable and accessible.”

Bluewater shoppers will also be able to enter a competition to win a Hexed hoodie.

Sharon has around 25 years of experience in design and sourcing and has seen first hand the waste, low wages and constant pressure on suppliers to continually lower prices.

This is why she felt a strong desire to create a low carbon footprint, sustainable alternative to the mass off shore production she had witnessed during her career in the industry.

She said: “Using my extensive experience in athleisure and branded fashion, I wanted to create a sustainable collection of loungewear that makes the most of what UK manufacturing can offer.

“The result is a range of inclusive, timeless pieces with thoughtful details that can be worn everywhere by everyone.”
