Dartford manager Tony Burman wants his players to clinch the Ryman League, Premier Division title against play-off chasers Kingstonian on Saturday.

The Darts boss, pictured, has close links with the Ks and says he wants to secure the two points needed to wrap up the title with friends and family looking on.

He said: "We don’t want to rely on other teams losing, we want to do it ourselves and we don’t want to wait, we want to do it as soon as possible."

He added: "We go to Kingstonian knowing we need two points from seven games, if we get them then it’s all well and good.

"We are really looking forward to the game, I have some close friends and cousins there. It would be nice to clinch it, but we won’t take anything for granted."

Darts put themselves in sight of the finishing line after coming from behind to win 2-1 against Canvey Island at Princes Park on Monday.

Burman said: "We didn’t control the game in the first half, were under pressure and came in 1-0 down. We made it harder than it needed to be.

"There was no magic wand. We just discussed where they were not in control of the game and it was a lot better in the second half."

Darts face a trip to Harrow Borough next Tuesday (7.45pm).
