Dartford have raided Blue Square South Braintree for the second time this month, sealing a deal with versatile player Lee Burns.

The 26-year-old Australian follows former Braintree captain Billy Burgess to Princes Park and becomes the Darts’ fourth signing since the end of the season.

Dartford have made recruiting fresh talent look easy and joint assistant manager Steve Mosely (pictured) believes the club’s reputation is making them an attractive proposition.

Mosely said: "We had a number of targets and so far we’ve been successful. We’re progressing as a club and people want to be part of it.

"People know what we’ve achieved in the last few years. They can see the fan base and the facilities and the way the club is trying to progress.

"The players we are bringing in want to be back in Conference South and they want to be back in there with Dartford Football Club. They are coming here for a new challenge."

Burns offers the kind of versatility that the club’s management are seeking. He can play in a number of positions including right-back, right midfield, central midfield and in attack.
