ROCKNEY geezer Chas Hodges of Chas ‘n’ Dave fame has donated a song to Dartford Football Club.

Got My Ticket to the Darts was originally recorded earlier this year as a charity single in aid of the Haven House Children’s Hospice.

It’s all about the game of darts but, after it was performed at Dartford Festival in July, Paul Shed and Gary Goodmaze from entertainment agency Celebtime hit the bullseye when they realised the song would be suitable for Dartford Football Club.

Celebtime director Paul said: “Having talked to me old mate about the possibilities of using this song for Dartford, I am pleased to announce Chas has agreed to let us use it.

“It is available on iTunes and all proceeds go to Haven Children’s Hospice -– so apart from a great song for the Darts, you will also be helping sick children get the best possible care.”

He added: “We’d obviously like to say a big thank you to Chas but also chairman of the Professional Darts Corporation Barry Hearn who gave his permission as well.”

The song will now be played at every game at the Princes Park grounds.

Darts co-chairman Bill Archer said: “We’re really happy that we’ve got this song and it’s nice to be associated with Chas. I’m hoping that it’s going to catch on with the crowds.

“Chas came up the other day to watch the Leyton Orient game and said he really enjoyed himself and says he’s going to come back up.

“We played the song over the tannoy and lots of people were singing along.”

Chas ‘n’ Dave previously recorded four FA Cup final singles for Tottenham Hotspur in the 1980s.

In 2009 there was shock when the duo split after over 30 years together. They found chart success with hits like Rabbit, Ain’t No Pleasing You and Snooker Loopy.
