Dartford could add striker Allan Tait to their squad

Dartford manager Tony Burman could add much-travelled striker Allan Tait to his squad this week.

The 27-year-old forward, who ended last season at Blue Square South Basingstoke, would provide much-needed firepower for the Darts.

Tait, who has also played for Canvey, Crawley and Eastbourne, was seen leaving Princes Park last week but all Burman would say was: "I’m meeting with a number of players whom I believe will benefit the team.

"Ideally, I would like to complete all my transfer business by the end of June.

"Each day the number of players being made available for transfer grows bigger so the situation is constantly changing."

Burman, who wants to add as many as four new signings, made Elliot Bradbrook his first close-season signing after agreeing terms on Sunday night.

The Dartford-born 23-year-old, who lives five minutes from Princes Park, moved from rivals Maidstone to join his home-town club in what Burman described as a "significant signing."

Burman said: "Elliot is naturally left-footed and we needed a player of his class and calibre to bring balance to the side.

"That’s one of the reasons why I’m so pleased he’s agreed to join us.

"I said from the outset that I wanted to sign players of quality and experience of playing either at Conference South or Ryman Premier League level. He fulfils that criteria.

"What’s more he’s a local lad who will want to do well for home-town club. In other words, he has joined for all the right reasons."
