Two old people's homes in Dartford have been earmarked for closure as part of a county-wide shake-up.

Manorbrooke, in Bevis Close, could be bulldozed and turned into sheltered accommodation, while The Limes, in Brent Lane, is set to close for good.

A further seven care homes across Kent are affected by the proposals.

Social services chiefs say no final decision is likely to be made until December at the earliest and have promised wide-ranging consultation with residents, their families and staff.
