Dartford made it two wins from two in Blue Square Bet South with a 2-1 triumph against Eastbourne Borough at Princes Park on Tuesday night.

Tony Burman's side are one of six sides to have taken six points from six to start the campaign after Charlie Sheringham (pictured) set them on their way with his third goal of the season and Adam Green netted the clincher on his home debut.

Jon Wallis worked the Eastbourne keeper twice early on and Tom Bonner went close with a header before 20 minutes in the hosts were ahead when Richard Graham’s deep cross was nodded back across goal by skipper Elliot Bradbrook for Sheringham to convert.

Ryan Hayes saw a shot saved and Wallis went close with a free-kick before the break but it was not until the hour when two new signings combined to double the advantage, another Graham cross being turned in from close range by full-back Green.

Deep into injury-time Darts keeper Andy Young fumbled a corner from sub Ethan Strevett into his own net to halve the deficit but it was one of the visitors few forays into the Darts box..

Burman said: "It was a shame to concede because you want to keep clean sheets, but we thoroughly deserved to win. I felt at half-time that we needed to be more clinical in our finishing and after we got the second we should have kicked-on, but it wasn't to be."
