Crisis deepens as councillors demand meeting

7An extraordinary meeting of Swanley Town Council has been called to discuss this week's removal of the town clerk.

Labour group leader Mark Fittock has written to the Mayor of Swanley demanding the meeting take place to discuss Brian Daley's sudden departure after 13 years in office.

The mayor, Cllr Victor Southern, who is also one of the councillors involved in Mr Daley's exit, has to respond by November 7.

If he fails to answer, or refuses, two councillors can call a meeting and set the agenda.
