Kent United Football club rename development centre after Jordan Dawes, from Swanley, who died last week

A Kent football club is renaming one its centres after a player who passed away last week.

Goalkeeper Jordan Dawes, from Swanley, died last Friday after she was diagnosed with liver cancer last year, following a stroke.

The 18-year-old was described as "amazing person" by her family and friends.

Now her football team, Kent United Football, have announced they will be changing the name of their girls development centre to The Jordan Dawes PDC.

They made the announcement on twitter, adding: "The club will be renaming our Girls Development Centre as of today.

"The Jordan Dawes Girls PDC will run under this name from this point onwards ensuring the memory of our goalkeeper lives on in all our future young players."

Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea sent Jordan some of his gloves and shirt during her illness, and paid his respects when he heard of her death.
