Charlton's winless run at the Valley stretched to six matches when they slumped 4-1 at home to Championship high-fliers Middlesbrough on Saturday.

Rob Hulse fired the struggling Addicks in front from the edge of the box on 12 minutes - the first time they had opened the scoring in a home match since beating Leicester in August.

In-form Boro, whose victory moved them second in the table, levelled when the unmarked Jonathan Woodgate headed home on 27 minutes.

Sloppy play by Michael Morrison was punished as Boro went 2-1 up through Scott McDonald, eight minutes after half-time.

Route one did the trick 10 minutes later with Jason Steele's clearance flicked on by McDonald to Emmanuel Ledesma, who added the visitors' third.

Richard Smallwood completed the scoring in injury-time.
