Charlton Athletic slipped out of the nPower League 1 play-off places after a second-half horror show against Exeter City infront of a packed-house at the Valley on Saturday.

After a goalless first half Liam Sercombe put the visitors ahead on 64 minutes and the Grecians doubled their lead 13 minutes from time when Addicks defender Gary Doherty's attempted header to keeper Rob Elliot was intercepted by John O'Flynn who stroked the ball into an empty net.

It was 3-0 six minutes from time when Elliot felled O'Flynn in the box and Ryan Harley stepped-up to convert from the spot.

However Bradley Wright-Phillips gave the large crowd of nearly 25,000, who had taken advantage of £5 tickets, something to cheer when he turned-in Doherty's acrobatic effort four minutes from time as the Athletic slipped to seventh, though they have games in hand over MK Dons who lie a point ahead of them.
