Charlton and Hartlepool played out a goalless draw in their final League 1 game of the season at The Valley on Saturday.

The Addicks included five home-grown players in their line-up and gave a first start to 17-year-old Callum Harriott.

Bradley Wright-Phillips (pictured) came closest to opening the scoring in the first half when got on the end of a Miguel Angel Llera pass and chipped goalkeeper Scott Flinders, but his effort came back off the bar.

Charlton suffered a blow when they lost the services of Jonathan Fortune who was stretchered off and replaced by Gary Doherty.

A foul by Garry Liddle on Jose Semedo caused a fracas which led to both players as well as Neil Austin getting booked.

Sam Collins almost made the breakthrough for the visitors when he found himself unmarked at a corner, turned and shot but his effort hit the bar and bounced down onto the line.

A powerful Federico Bessone drive hit the bar for the Addicks, but the game ended in stalemate.
