Two 15-year-old boys have been remanded by a youth court in Dartford today on charges of armed robbery.

The two youths, from Camden Town and Islington, were arrested shortly after a jewellers was robbed in Longfield last week.

They were both accused of robbery of an unknown amount of jewellery and with possession of a firearm.

The magistrates remanded them for four weeks with the intention that they should be sent to Maidstone Crown Court because of the seriousness of the allegations.

The youths spoke only to confirm their names and that they are currently living in Milton Keynes.

The charges arose from a raid on Bourne & Kemp Jewellers in Station Road, Longfield at 5.15pm last Tuesday.
