Boys arrested over arson on the number 96

FIVE teenagers have been arrested following an arson on a bus in which 10 passengers had to be evacuated.

The quick-thinking driver got everyone off the route 96 bus and alerted residents when he spotted smoke on the upper deck of the bus.

The blaze happened on Monday, July 31 in Dartford Road, Dartford at 3.44pm.

Four 16-year old boys from Bexley, Sidcup and Eltham and one 18-year from Sidcup were arrested on Tuesday. They have all been released on bail pending a decision to prosecute.

No one was hurt in the blaze but there was damaged to nearby houses.
