Dartford suffered a disappointing defeat at Boreham Wood in Blue Square Bet South on Saturday.

The hosts took the lead inside a minute with a long-range dipping strike from Chez Isaac which beat Andrew Young in the Darts goal, who was making his 150th start for the club.

However, within four minutes Elliot Bradbrook (pictured) pulled Darts level when he converted from close range from a corner.

Young kept the visitors level with a smart save, but he could not prevent Wood taking the lead after 17 minutes when the Darts defence failed to dispossess Micheal Thalassitis who jinked through before finding the net.

The frenetic pace continued with chances going begging at both ends before the break, but 10 minutes into the second half the clincher arrived when Young was beaten by a low shot at his near post.

Darts boss Tony Burman threw everything at the hosts in search of an equaliser and substitute Ryan Hayes curled a delightful shot off the inside of the post and along the line late-on, while the visitors also saw frenzied appeals for a handball in the area waved away in the dying moments.

The defeat saw the second placed Darts fall just a point behind leaders Woking, who drew 0-0 with Salisbury, while third-placed Welling were also held to a goalless draw at home to Dover.
