Accident has caused massive traffic queues for frustrated motorists on the A2

Major traffic delays caused by a serious accident on the London-bound A2 near Bluewater have clearedr, says Highways England.

All traffic was being held as emergency services dealt with the incident.

Highways England said delays were caused in the Bluewater and Bean area.

Witnesses reported numerous fire engines and ambulances at the scene.

But in a tweet put out at 7.30pm Highways England says the massive tailbacks were slowly starting to clear.
