Man arrested as axe raiders target Bean Post Office

Two axeman were chased away as they attempted to raid a post office.

It is understood the manager of the branch in Southfleet Road, Bean, was slightly injured as he confronted the men at 11.15am.

The pair stole a small quantity of cash before leaving the business, reportedly driving away in a red Volkswagen Golf.

One man was arrested at around noon in Priory Road, Dartford.

He remains in custody on suspicion of robbery.
