Dartford made the short trip back over the Dartford Crossing happy after winning 4-1 at Aveley in the Ryman League Premier Division on Saturday.

The victory was all the more impressive for the league leaders as they had to play around an hour with 10 men after skipper Adam Flanagan was sent off following a clash with an Aveley player.

Darts went in front on 17 minutes when Elliot Bradbrook got the slightest of touches on Billy Burgess's shot.

The home side equalised through Junior Dadson just after the half hour mark and it looked as if Dartford might struggle after the break with the one-man disadvantage.

However, Jamie Coyne's far-post header restored the visitors's lead less than two minutes after the restart as the Darts showed fantastic character.

Jay May's close range effort made it 3-1 in the 67th minute before Ryan Hayes rounded off another fine afternoon with a curling shot from outside the box at the death.

Aside from Flanagan's dismissal, the only down sides for Dartford were on the injury front. Bradbrook was taken to hospital with a nasty-looking ankle injury, while they also lost Alan Tait and Burgess before half-time.
