Armed robbery at Dartford bookmakers

Masked men armed with hammers have robbed a Dartford bookmakers.

The two men, wearing crash helmets, threatened customers and a member of staff at the Coral branch in Heath Street, before escaping with cash.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the robbery, which took place at about 7.45pm on Wednesday, May 12.

One of the men, wearing a mask under the crash helmet, threatened a female cashier with a hammer, demanding that the till and safe be emptied and the cash put in a bag.

The second offender threatened the two customers in the shop with a hammer, before the cashier gave them a small amount of cash and they left on a motorbike that headed towards Highfield Road.

Both men are described as white, aged 20 to 35, and about 6ft. One was said to be of stocky build, and wearing dark clothing. A witness described him as fat. The other was of slim build wearing a light-coloured hooded top.
