Two arrested after £725 of makeup reported stolen from Dartford town centre

Two girls were arrested after £725 of makeup was reported stolen from a shop in Dartford.

Officers were called to the town centre earlier today and the cosmetics were recovered.

Sharing the news on Twitter, officers said: "Dartford Town Team and #CSU were called to a report of a suspected shoplifting in the town centre.

"Two females arrested and £725 worth of makeup recovered.

"Over to #VBCT to book them a court date. #NotInOurTown #SaferDartford."

A police spokesman said later: "At around 3pm on Monday, May 17, Kent Police received a report that two people had stolen make up worth around £700 from Boots in The Orchards, Dartford.

"Officers attended and detained two teenage girls, from London, on suspicion of theft.

"A community resolution, which has included returning all of the stock, which had not been damaged, has since been agreed between the store and the two children."
