A flyfisher from Canterbury has been selected to represent England at the annual Home International Championship in Ireland.

Jane Robinson, from Waltham, qualified for a place in the England Ladies team after finishing 12th at the annual England Ladies National Flyfishing Championship on Bewl Water.

Robinson, who is the headteacher at Simon Langton Girls’ Grammar School, will form part of a 14 strong team which will travel to Loch Lein, Killarney, Co Kerry in June.

The England team will face competition from the Irish, Welsh and Scottish ladies teams.

Robinson said: “This will be my 7th cap. It is always amazing when you are asked to fish for your country.”

The flyfishing enthusiast has been involved in the sport for the last 10 years and has learnt to hone her skills at Bewl Water.
