Prince of Wales started the New Year as they ended the old one with yet another hammering in the Canterbury & District League Premier Division.

Against Lesters they turned around at 1-1 but throughout the second period the Thanet side controlled affairs and eventually ran out 5-2 winners. Ben Hougham and Michael Haley scored for the Prince.

In the Kent Soccer Company Canterbury Charity Cup Senior Section, Chilham defeated Canterbury City Reserves 3-2 after extra time at Branch Road.

Dave Nugent and James Wake put Chilham in control but Jono Thompsett and Carl Williams levelled for City before Mike King struck the extra-time winner.
