Bridgwater & Albion 38 Canterbury 12

Two late tries by prop Matt Pinnick and top scorer Mike Melford proved Canterbury's only reward as they slipped to a heavy 38-12 defeat in National League Three South against Bridgwater & Albion in Somerset on Saturday.

Both scores came in the final 10 minutes. Pinnick sneaked his way over, with Gert De Kock converting, and then winger Melford produced lightning pace to race away and score in the corner.

However the game was over as a contest after only five minutes with the home side 21-0 ahead. They increased their lead to 31-0 by half-time.

Bridgwater scored five tries, with fly-half Luke Cozens in excellent kicking form landing five conversions and a penalty.

Westcombe Park were also wrong end of a heavy reverse - losing 26-8 at home to Cornish side Mounts Bay in National League Two.
