Kent change venues for home matches

Paul Millman: Alterations had to be made to season schedule

Kent have announced a change of venues for five home matches this summer.

The move follows the confirmation of two pop concerts at St Lawrence in late June.

It means that Beckenham will now be hosting a four-day Championship game and Twenty20 Cup cricket goes to Tunbridge Wells for the first time.

Canterbury fans will not miss out on one-day matches with two Twenty20 Cup matches switching to St Lawrence.

Kent chief executive Paul Millman said: "We appreciate that the changes we are making to the fixtures may cause some inconvenience to those who have started to make their plans for the season.

"The opportunity to stage two concerts at Canterbury is a vital part of this year’s plan for the Club and we hope that our supporters will understand the need to make these alterations to the original schedule."

Tickets already purchased for these fixtures will remain valid. However, those who have purchased tickets in advance will receive a letter later this week to advise how they can obtain a full refund if they wish.
