Final farewell to former Kent cricketer

THE funeral of former Kent cricketer Richard Davis was held today in Blean near Canterbury at the small church of St Cosmus and St Damian Church.

The Margate-born bowler died at the age of 37 after suffering a brain tumour.

Davis’ brother-in-law and Kent captain, David Fulton, says the family has been overwhelmed by the messages of condolence.

He stressed: “The response since Dickie’s death has been truly remarkable and on behalf of the family I would like to thank all those who have taken the trouble to send cards, write of telephone.
