Canterbury's cup hopes at an end

Canterbury Hockey Club's men's bowed out of the EH National Knock-Out Cup with a 5-1 home defeat to Beeston on Sunday.

Canterbury fell behind after only three minutes through Jamie Parker, before David Griffiths added the second on 11 minutes.

Adam Dixon scored at a 16th minute penalty corner to put Beeston firmly in control.

Skipper Matt Harper pulled a goal back for Canterbury, before Martin Jones' 43rd minute goal restored Canterbury's three-goal cushion.

Griffiths' second goal of the game completed Canterbury's misery.
