St Anselm’s School pupil Holly Standing triumphed in the Milstede Trophy final at Lamberhurst on Sunday.

The 14-year-old golfer beat her Faversham club colleague Anna Baker, 13, in the county matchplay competition for girls under 18.

Standing (h7), also a member of Ashford Golf Club, beat Baker (h17) 4&3.

Standing (pictured) won the first three holes but Baker began a fightback and, at the sixth, hit a superb tee shot to 5ft for a birdie and was all-square after eight.

Standing won the 10th ,11th, 13th and 14th - with Baker replying on the 12th - and a par on the 15th saw her take the match.
