MMA Girl 'disables' would-be attacker with a swift kick to the privates

A teenage girl has used her mixed martial arts training to fend off a stranger who tried to drag her into bushes.

The 17-year-old was attacked as she walked along an alleyway between St Augustine’s Road and Pilgrim’s Way in Canterbury - shortly after leaving college.

The man approached her and after several sleazy chat-up lines, attempted to take her hand and pull her towards the bushes.

She told KentOnline: "When I started to walk away he grabbed my hand and started to pull.

"I used the momentum to bring my leg up and kick him in the balls with the very solid heel of my boot, and said 'when I say leave me alone, leave me alone.'

"He was on the floor when I turned and left so I guess he was stopped for a while.

"What scared me most was the thought it could be someone else."

In a warning to girls in the city, her mum posted about the incident on Facebook.

She wrote: “Lucky for us she has MMA training and 'disabled' him.”

Her attacker is in his early 20s, about 5ft 10ins tall with dirty blond hair and a medium, muscular build.

The teenager’s mum says her daughter was trained by David Finch at Matt Fiddes Martial Arts, adding: “Although she hasn't attended for many years, the reactions she learned in training were still automatic.”

In her Facebook post, she warned: “Please, please, be careful out there. It was still daylight when this happened.

“Share this post to keep other girls safe.”
