Canterbury ghosthunter John Hippisley made a fleeting appearance on a top television comedy show on Saturday night.

He was filmed in the city wearing his distinctive top hat and cloak for BBC’s John Bishop’s Britain show.

He featured in a couple of short clips in which a range of characters commented on their musical tastes and made it clear he was not a fan of rap.

He said: "I am happy to bear my soul to strangers most Friday and Saturday night’s throughout the year while leading my ghost tours. So the idea of appearing on a TV show did not bother me.

"Within minutes of my appearance, my Facebook page came alive with comments from my friends all over England, all saying how surprised they were to see me on the box."

John’s award winning Canterbury Ghost Tour is every Friday and Saturday night, meeting outside Alberrys Wine bar, in St Margaret’s Street, at 8pm. Log on to www.canterburyghosttour.com for more details.
