ART by sixth-formers at Canterbury’s Barton Court Grammar School has certainly made an impression on all those who have seen it.

According to the school, the praise for the A-level art extended to the moderators who marked the work.

Teacher Robert Shaw said: “This is my first year at Barton Court and I’ve rarely seen such accomplished work in a school.

“It’s staggering,” he added.

Year 13 pupils exhibiting their work were Andy Tapsell, Lucy Barton, Leo Plumb, Felicity Wigmore, Jess Barry, Lucy Maslin, Jodie Johnson, Rose Renwick, Hannah Gibson, Vicki Tooth, Laura Siminson, Collette Reed, Natalie Ingram and Lauren Mackie.

Year 12 artists were Frank Messina, Cassandra Neal, Alice Berthoud, Demi Crick, Abbi Murray, Leo Smith, Harrison Marsh, Lucy Betts, Harriet Fitch and Greg Sergeant.
