Stones thrown in racist attack on student

A 28-year-old Asian woman was hit on the head when she had stones thrown at her in a Kent city.

The student was follwed by a group of youngsters from near the public toilets in Lower Chantry Lane, Canterbury.

Stones were thrown and one boy in the group had a catapult. He was aged between 10 and 13, of stocky build with cropped hair.

The victim, who believes it was a racially-motivated attack, took refuge in a nearby restaurant.

Anyone with information about this incident, which took place at around 10pm on Sunday, July 1, is asked to contact police on 01227 868281.
