KENT-based paralympic rower Alastair McKean has won a silver medal at the World Championships in Munich.

McKean, from Canterbury, formed part of the mixed adaptive coxed four with the team forced to chase the early pace-makers from Germany and the USA through the first-half of the race.

They then hauled themselves up in the second half to take silver in a time of 3.36.19 behind Germany, who were roared home to victory by a large, local crowd.

Britain's Tom Aggar took gold in the arms-only single scull.
