Shoplifter Charlie Silk from Canterbury jailed for thefts from Asda, Morrisons, Boots and the Co-op

A serial shoplifter has been arrested, charged and jailed in the space of three days.

Charlie Silk, of Parham Close, Canterbury , was detained at Morrisons supermarket in Herne Bay on Sunday, September, 20.

The 25-year-old was later charged with nine counts of theft and admitted all the offences when he appeared Medway Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, September 22. He was jailed for 28 weeks on the same day.

The charges relate to the theft of alcohol and other products from Asda, B&M Bargains, Boots and Sturry Co-op in Canterbury and Morrisons in Herne Bay between August 11 and September 20 this year.

Billy-Jo Darling, 29, of Parham Close, Canterbury, who is charged with involvement in seven of the same offences and two separate similar offences, has been bailed to appear before Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, October 13.
