Seriously injured student flown to hospital

An 18-year-old Canterbury College student was flown to hospital by the Kent Air Ambulance after she was hit by a van on Thursday.

She suffered a serious head injury in the accident which happened as she was crossing Lower Chantry Lane, Canterbury, at 12.40pm.

The student, who was unconscious, was flown to a London hospital.

The road was closed while treatment was given.
