Crash closes Sturry Hill in Canterbury

A crash involving three vehicles caused major rush hour delays in Canterbury.

The accident happened on the A28 Sturry Hill, near Fordwich Road, at about 5pm.

The busy road was closed in both directions, with queues stretching back to Canterbury city centre.

No-one has been seriously injured in the crash, according to police, and the road was reopened at 7pm.

Earlier a police spokesman said: "Kent Police was called to a reported three-vehicle collision in Sturry Road, Sturry, at 4.51pm.

"Officers are currently at the scene and South East Coast Ambulance Service have also been called.

"The road is currently blocked and there are delays being reported in the area. If possible, motorists are advised to use another route."
