Attempted murder charge over teenager's stabbing in Canterbury

Detectives investigating a reported stabbing in Canterbury have charged a man with attempted murder.

Kent Police received a report on Thursday of an assault in Westgate Gardens near St Dunstan’s Street in which a 19-year-old man was seriously injured.

He had suffered injuries consistent with stab wounds.

Alban Hetemi, 20, of Alexandra Road, Hornsey, was charged on 11 April with attempted murder, and other charges including possessing a blade in a public place, threatening a person with an offensive weapon, possession of cannabis with intent to supply, driving a vehicle otherwise than in accordance with a licence, and driving a vehicle without insurance.

He was due to appear via video link at Medway Magistrates' court today.
