Police are today continuing their investigations into the discovery of human remains at woods near Canterbury.

The bones were found by a member of the public at Kemberland Wood off the A291, just outside Sturry on Thursday morning.

Police said the remains appear to have been at the scene for "some time".

Forensic teams are today at the private woods, around three acres of which have been taped off.

The remains are skeletal and KentOnline understands the limbs had become detached from the torso.

Kent Police said the body is yet to be identified and officers are unsure as to its gender. They are treating the find as "unexplained".
