Police name woman killed in crash

A WOMAN who died after the car in which she was travelling hit a tree at Calcott Hill, Sturry, near Canterbury, at the weekend has been identified by Kent Police.

She was 33-year-old Karen Ann Moore, from of East Street at Herne Bay.

She died after the Ford Focus car in which she was a front seat passenger collided with a tree at about 6.20am on Sunday.

The 25-year-old driver and another man who was in the back of the car were taken to the hospital in Margate with superficial injuries. It is believed the car may have hit ice on the road.

Witnesses to the collision or anyone who may have seen the car being driven prior to the crash are urged to contact Sgt Lorraine Silvester in Kent Police's serious collision unit on 01622 798538.
