Minter inspires Canterbury to third indoor title

A level of consistency no one else can match has earned Canterbury 1 the Pharon Indoor Cricket League title for a third successive year.

Choosing regularly from the same experienced squad, Canterbury have demonstrated all facets of the game with considerable skill and, on the few occasions they have been stretched, have made the right key decisions.

Beaten just once, Canterbury’s 12th win on Sunday not only typified their planning and organisation but sent Littlebourne 1 to the bottom of the table and back to the Second Division after only a season in the top flight.

In their penultimate league fixture, Canterbury even found a place for veteran Trevor Minter, who justified the selectors’ confidence by scoring 22 not out and taking 2-22 in 2.3 overs.

Canterbury now enter the county finals at the Kent Academy on February 8.
