Shane Cosier and Jamie Porter from Canterbury appear in court over burglary investigation

A second man has appeared in court in relation to a string of 11 burglaries and thefts across est Kent.

Cash, jewellery, power tools, bank cards, vehicles and registration plates are among items reported stolen across Canterbury, Deal, Herne Bay and Ashford since October 2018.

Shane Cosier, of Well Lane in Canterbury, was arrested after suspected stolen goods were discovered when officers searched three houses in Aylesham on January 17.

Mr Cosier, 34, was charged with conspiracy to commit burglary in relation to 11 burglaries and thefts.

He appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court via video link on Friday, and has been remanded in custody.

It comes after Jamie Porter, 32, of Sussex Avenue was arrested on Monday 18, and was also charged with fraud and conspiracy to commit burglary in connection with this investigation.

Mr Porter appeared at Medway Magistrates Court via video link on Tuesday, March 19, and was also remanded in custody.

Both men will appear at Canterbury Crown Court on April 29.

Two women, aged 35 and 33, and a man aged 31 from Aylesham, were also arrested following the searches in January and remain under investigation.
