Meet Theo: our little miracle!

Survivor: Theo Barleycorn beat the medical odds
Survivor: Theo Barleycorn beat the medical odds

Theo Barleycorn was given just a 10 per cent chance of survival when he was born.

He has defied doctors and is now a bouncing one-year-old.

Theo was born with just 13 per cent kidney function.

His mother Suzie, 32, suffered complete kidney failure following the birth of her daughter Kiah, now almost four.

When she found out that she was pregnant she was advised to have a termination.

But she and her husband Matt decided to go ahead and Theo is making good progress despite his condition.

“It was a miracle Theo was conceived and another miracle that he reached his first birthday,” said Suzie, of Penshurst Close, Canterbury.
