Chartham: Four charged after man allegedly assaulted

A man was taken to hospital with a broken rib and bruising after an alleged assault.

Four people are due in court next month following reports of the assault near the River Stour in Chartham at around 8pm on Tuesday.

A man in his 40s was taken to hospital for treatment.

Joanna Barton, 26, of Highland Road in Chartham was charged with a public order offence.

Darren William Aldridge, 42, of Bolts Hill, Chartham, was charged with assault.

George William Barton, 32, of Rentain Road, Chartham, was charged with two counts of assault, two counts of possession of an offensive weapon and criminal damage.

George Barton, 50, of Highland Road, Chartham, was charged with a public order offence.

All four have been released on bail to appear at Margate Magistrates’ Court on July 29.
