Man held over serious assault

A 29-year-old man has been arrested by Kent Police following a serious assault in Knights Avenue at Canterbury in the early hours of Saturday morning.

The suspect, who was arrested on Monday evening, is being questioned by detectives.

A 41-year-old man remains in a serious but stable condition in hospital as a result of the assault which happened between 1.30am and 2.45am in the car park of the recreation ground at Knights Avenue, on the London Road estate.
